Technical Expert, Engineering – Electrical (St‑Laurent)
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Expert in Electrical Engineering to join our aerospace engineering team in St‑Laurent. In this role, you will provide advanced technical leadership, support complex electrical system development, and guide engineering teams through design, integration, testing, and certification activities. You will act as a subject‑matter expert, ensuring that electrical systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of aircraft electrical systems
- Provide expert technical guidance to engineering teams on electrical architecture, wiring, power distribution, and system interfaces
- Review and validate engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Support system integration activities, including testing, verification, and certification
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and develop corrective actions for electrical system issues
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including avionics, structures, systems, and manufacturing
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications
- Participate in design reviews, technical assessments, and engineering change processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical design methods, tools, and processes
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Extensive experience in electrical engineering within the aerospace industry
- Strong knowledge of aircraft electrical systems, wiring practices, power distribution, and system integration
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (TCCA, FAA, EASA)
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
- Fluent in both French and English (spoken and written)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aircraft development programs (OEM or Tier‑1 supplier)
- Knowledge of CATIA Electrical, Capital Harness, or similar electrical design tools
- Experience with testing, validation, and certification of electrical systems
- Understanding of systems engineering principles and model‑based engineering
