Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Repair Design Engineer to join our engineering team and support the development, approval, and implementation of structural and component repairs. In this role, you will be responsible for creating safe, compliant, and cost‑effective repair solutions that keep aircraft and components operating at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and approve structural and component repair designs in accordance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate damage reports, inspection findings, and non‑conformances to determine appropriate repair strategies
- Produce detailed repair drawings, instructions, and technical documentation
- Perform stress analysis to validate repair integrity and ensure airworthiness
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to support repair implementation
- Liaise with OEMs, suppliers, and regulatory authorities when required
- Provide engineering support for troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Ensure all repair designs meet safety, performance, and certification requirements
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal processes and industry standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and repair processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering (or related field)
- Experience in repair design, structural analysis, or aircraft maintenance engineering
- Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and structural behavior
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., FAA, EASA, TCCA)
- Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering analysis software
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and OEM documentation
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and committed to producing high‑quality engineering work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with composite and metallic repair design
- Knowledge of stress analysis methods (hand calculations and/or FEA)
- Previous experience in an MRO, OEM, or aerospace manufacturing environment
