JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

  • Required to manufacture, modify, or repair any type of Sheet Metal or component, structure, use all types of Sheet Metal fabricating equipment, lay-out and develop parts of irregular shape and curvature, tooling, such as drill jigs, form blocks, etc., as well as the manufacture of such tooling.
  • Required to assist in the development of modifications and repairs and prepare preliminary sketches of such work
  • Perform structural activities on aircraft;
  • Inspect fuselages, engines, operating equipment, components, parts, etc., in accordance with work packages and task cards;
  • Carry out scheduled aircraft inspections in accordance with applicable maintenance programs;
  • Inspect (“buy-out”) fuselages, engines, operating equipment, components, parts, etc., at all stages of repair to ensure that repairs and work are carried out in accordance with the standards and specifications designated in approved documentation, drawings, manuals, etc;
  • Carry out structural activities to ensure aircraft release in accordance with the company’s maintenance policy manual and customer requirements;
  • Document deviations and raise non-conformance reports in accordance with company policies and procedures and customer manuals as required;
  • Determine appropriate corrective actions required to rectify deviations; Estimate time required to complete non-conformance reports and coordinate with various supervisors to ensure work requirements for all positions have been addressed;
  • Identify parts requirements and make purchase requests;
  • Work closely with project and workshop supervisors to ensure that work is completed on schedule;
  • Supervise technicians and provide technical advice. Coaching and training;
  • Monitor quality and inform the service manager, production and quality department of any disruptions to maintenance;
  • Ensure that personnel follow instructions and perform tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures;
  • Route unusable, expired or rejected parts awaiting disposal to quarantine;
  • Inform the Quality Assurance Manager of any shortcomings in the maintenance policy manual, or of any improvements that may be required;

 

Skills and qualifications

  • Certify work within the scope of his/her issued inspection authority (ICA holder only).
  • License S with recognized training in the repair of Sheet-metal structures
  • Use the latest applicable standards;
  • Use appropriate and calibrated tools (where applicable);
  • Complete and pass all relevant training courses;
  • Update and communicate to the Human Resources Department his/her skills, work experience and professional qualifications;
  • Report all incidents, accidents and potential hazards via the SMS;
  • Apply and follow policies and procedures related to his/her position.

 

Required experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
